In August, you can’t escape the three H’s: Hazy, Hot & Humid. But, if you exercise outdoors, there’s two more “H’s” you should be aware of: Heat Exhaustion and Heatstroke. These two conditions occur when the body becomes overheated. This month we review the signs and symptoms of heat illness and provide 9 precautions to take while exercising outside when the mercury rises.
Tired of the same old thing for lunch? Try tossing a salad with spinach instead of lettuce. Add mushrooms, red bell pepper and a sliced hardboiled egg and you’ll be satisfied until dinnertime.
